Dear SONYAs,
For the second consecutive year our Prelude Exhibition will take place in the Myrtle Windows Gallery (sponsored by MARP, Myrtle Avenue Partnership,www.myrtleavenue.org) for the month preceding the SONYA Stroll. This year there are 12 storefront windows making art accessible and highly visible to anyone walking down the street. Additionally, we plan to exhibit work in the establishment hosting our Arty Party, which will give us some great visibility leading up to the Stroll (location to be confirmed shortly).
If you plan to submit your work for consideration, please visit the Myrtle Windows Gallery if you are unfamiliar with the venues. The twelve windows are in businesses along Myrtle Avenue from between Vanderbilt and Hall Streets. This will give you a good idea of the types of work that show well there.
In order to have your work considered for display in the Myrtle Windows Gallery or on the interior walls of our hosting establishment the following criteria must be met:
You must be a registered Stroll participant
You will be notified if your work is to be included in the Myrtle Windows Gallery by April 12th. If your work is selected to be included, a waiver of liability from MARP will be available for signature when you drop off your work. SONYAs curatorial crew, the individual shopkeepers and MARP reserve the right of refusal of any work found to be too difficult or dangerous to hang due to faulty framing, oversize or overweight.
If you meet the criteria, don’t pass up this great opportunity!
